I hope you are not running those items off the 115 volt DC power from the front of the SA200. Anyway several places carry inverters, run straight to the battery-I prefer to use 'monster cable' to connect the 2.

If you're going to hook a inverter up to your welding machine battery, using the machines alternator to make the power (and I realize you originaly ask about converting welding output to current to power your house, I don't think that's feasable and all of your advise has been to mount 12v to 120v inverter on the welding machine), You most likely have much greater capacity in your truck than your welding machine. Your truck (most likely) has a much larger alternator and much larger battery(s) (especialy if you have a later model diesel truck)than that SA-200 so if you intend to go that route you'll probably get much more bang for your buck hooking up to the trucks charging system.
One (very good) benefit of going that route is that you can hook your truck driven inverter to a couple of magnetic oil pan heaters when the cold weather sets in and by the time you get to work your welding machine will turn over and start a lot easier, specially at below zero temps when some guys are running their battery down trying to fire up.

Well I want to just thank everyone for there advise.  I was able to finally get a generator for the house after waiting 3 different times 3 days in a role in line at the Home depot. Twice they ran out as i was eigther next in line or just a couple back.  Anyways, I had planned a head for the storm just didn't plan on a theft getting my original gen set.  When i catch him/her it should be considered a justifiable killing.  I like the idea of trying the 4 battery idea and I already have been running things off my little invertor in the truck.  Its living with my wife and kids who have been really put out through everything.  The gen set I got is only 5k but the freg is working and i wired into the panelside of my house so all the lights and fans are back working. No hot water or using the stove but we have a gas grill and smoker out back.  My wife has done one hell of a job cooking for me and my boys so no complaints here.  She's  managed cornbread, biskets, and even lasanga over the last week.  They say we can not expect power until the end of the month so I'm headed out today looking for gas.  Again, thanks everyone for your advise.  I will be doing some R&D on what works best and i can assure u I will let everyone know.

Thing are getting back to normal.  My suggestion would be to go online and find a hotel and then call them.  As far as gas/desiel is going, more and more gas stations are coming back on line as they eigther get power or hook up on a gen set.   You can probably ask the hotel that you call and they will probably give you a better SITRIP on what is what around them.  Good luck  John
