I have too many hobbies, no time for them ...I think what I enjoy more then anything is taking very old motorcycles and sometimes machinery and bringing it back from the dead.  I do it a little different as I try to do it spending almost no money at all....I make the parts needed most of the time or find a similar piece and make it work.  That is the fun part for me, making stuff from scratch.  It makes for conversation when I am out riding one and people go where did you get that "XXXX" and I just tell them I made that.  Got a 30yr old XS the shop now I could finish up in a couple of weeks if I could just get some stinking free time to work on it.

Nice rides, especially the Chevelle, SWEET!  Nice fish too, I have not cast a line in over a year.

Thanks Tommy I appreciate the kind words! I do have some plans for it when I get my 38 rolling on the chassis. I am building a big block for it and a 4L80E. Then it will have some grunt and still be fun to cruise!

I work for Freeport McMoRan at the Safford mine and I know for sure how much we pay contract rig welders and it is more than enough to make a great living on. That is if you don't mind going through all the bs it takes to get on site!
Southern Az has its beauty but nothing like the rim. I'd like to settle down in Payson someday.

My passion WAS cruising on My sailboat. For the better part of 12 years I goofed around in the Bahamas & Florida Keys, lived real cheap & didn't work much. That ended at age 44 in '04 when I was diagnosed with cancer. Since then I do some small jobs and putter in My shop when I am up to it.

I did get back to Georgetown, Exuma, Bahamas in '07 where I used to spend a lot of time, to make the passage back to Florida on a friend's boat.

Damn, I sure miss that life.

Hi Shad! Long time...

I also like to build things a well as destroying them from time to time... Lately though, I mostly concentrate on building rather than destroying...

For instance, I really enjoy building my own computers from parts I scrounge around for, and they end up being some very useful "puter's" for someone who's too poor to buy a new one or for some senior citizen who once properly trained, can really enjoy having one to communicate with their family or friends...

I've been teaching basic computer classes to some seniors at this retirement residence and it's really been a blast to do. The results from this adventure is that I'm able to reassure the residents I teach that technology is not something to be so scared of, and it's really been a rewarding experience for me to see them "get it" with their own "puter's"

I am retired due to my disabilities yet, I cannot just sit around and waste myself away, and by doing this sort of training, it's brought back some meaning to my life again, and I'm really grateful to God for giving me this opportunity to do this and still keep in touch with my welding community also.:wink::cool:

I would like to do some fishing soon when I find free time do so again because Larry's still waiting on some pic's, so I'll have to head out towards Kinzu dam by the spillway and throw in a line or two & show him how the fishing is in Western PA. Anywho, good to see you posting again friend!

Respectfully,
Henry

Good for You Henry. Having something to do when You are up to it helps keep You going.

I am at "home" [where I grew up] with Mom and tinker in the shop & fix things for friends when I am up to it.

I cut the grass too, when it get really tall, and shovel some snow in the winter, but I don't live for the chores, I do them for Mom.

Except for the racing boats, which I'm sure is a blast, yall have touched on pretty much all my interests. Funny how much we have in common. What are yall doing next weekend? Lets have a couple beers!

Good thread! Nice coupe Cactus! Equally nice chevelle Wade!

My passion. I'd like to restore my mustang in the garage, someday but don't have space or time to fool with it. Have a restored 68 bolens tractor and a 66 cub cadet 107 that needs restored, but again, don't have time. I do like to cook though, on the weekends when I have time to spend hours in the kitchen. But it seems that I'm mostly running around working, looking at work but I guess that's how most of us are!
