/ PQR question about UT inspection

Wondering where it says or does it say, that when doing a PQR and areas of the weld are rejected with UT. Do you have to redo the coupon or do you just cut out those areas as you go and not use them for the destructive testing?

basically it is to save the contractor/mfg some money.....no sense sending a failed sample to the lab and paying them to fail it.
