AWS D1.1 Welder Qualification Test

Hi Gents,
I want to know can I use instead of Destructive Tests (such as Side bend, macro, fillet fracture etc.) UT test for WELDER Qualification Test as per AWS D1.1 ?

it was mentioned about substitution of RT for Guided Bend Test , but our project NDT method is MUT, please advise me.

Clause 4.16 provides the guidance for performance qualification testing requirements and methods, as well as alternative methods. UT is not mentioned in this clause as a substitute. UT would not be viable for fillet tests either.

Advise project methods be changed to comply with the construction code.

What is the different between MUT or RT for welder qualification???

if we will apply MUT instead of RT , how will be to the final result affected ?

As I read AWS D1.1 2015 for welder performance qualification.

If you use Clause 4.16.1.1 Substitution of RT for Guided Bend Tests you are compliant with the code

If you use MUT (Manual Ultrasonic Testing) You are not in compliance with the code.
