Hello troilite, I have not personally used this particular type of filler wire before, yet, I have spoken to individuals who have and I have also followed postings on the forum here of individuals who have. Most of the folks who have used this stuff don't like it when compared to the other options that might be available. I believe the stated benefits of it's use have to do with cost and supposed ease of use. Theoretically it doesn't require a purge when being used for open-root and piping applications, it also wouldn't require the use of a protective paste such as solar flux if you didn't use a gaseous purge. It does still introduce an internal coating or backside deposit which could be detrimental in the same manor as solar flux and would not work for situations where this deposit wouldn't be allowed. I have been led to understand that the wetting out of the bead and the way that the edges tie in are very difficult to distinguish over standard GTAW practices as described by individuals who have used it. Just some food for thought, I believe you may also receive responses from actual users to further your consideration of this product. Regards, aevald
