When using propane through a acetelyne regulator, what is the average preassure on the line?Should it be lower or higher than acetelyne?(barring tip size). Is it usually ok to run at say above 15lbs as opposed to acetelyne?

Unless your operating a HUGE multi-flame rosebud or cutting sections over 5 inches thick, there is no reason to operate over about 10.

Secondly... Your regulator may accomodate several gasses but you also must check your hoses to be sure they are rated for the gas you have selected.  The same goes for your cutting tips.  Two piece tips are especially fuel gas specific.

Refer to the charts provided by the manufacturer of your hoses and tips.

I have a personal experience with running acetylene through a Propylene tip that was unplesant and resulted in a scare and a wrecked tip for me... But a good lesson for the students.
