Monsoon,

The market for welders in Wisconsin is strong!

There is more work than welders to do it and some of it pays darned well.

Especially for boilermakers or folks who can run large diameter FCAW vertically on massive equipment. Wages go from about $25 and some much higher.

If you have basic entry level skills there are plenty of manufacturing plants looking for Mig welders around $12-15

Good work for stainless GTAW/GMAW Sectioon IX in southern WI with wages in between 15 and 30 depending on who hires you and if you can fit as well as fabricate.

The best way to make contacts would be to get involved with the AWS section in Milwaukee.. They are probably the most active and you WILL make contacts with employers desperate for welders if you attend a meeting

Call, visit or email folks @
http://www.aws.org/sections/milwaukee/

The section meeting on Jan 18 looks very promising... I'll be there too!
