Welding 1/4" plate (mild steel) tank with self shielded FCAW wire (1/16"). Was considering ceramic backing. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this type of FCAW wire with ceramic backing. Any suggestions on for wire or other precautions we should use?

i see it done all the time with nr-232, these are welds that are ut'd and pass fine
