Some welding book authors have printed that for every 1/1000's thickness 1 amp of current is required. Therefore the 0.025 would require 25 amps and Stainless Steel would normally require less. A problem will arise when welding at this amperage and that is too large a diameter tungsten. This low amperage would require a maximum tungsten diameter of 1/16". A better choice would be to drop a size to 0.040 diameter. And the argon flow rate would be reduced to less than 10 cfh.
