I am considering getting a used square wave tig for My shop. The machines I have been looking at are the Miller Sincrowave 300/350/351 machines. Do these have any performance or reliability issues I should consider? What other machines have a good record and should be considered? I will be doing manual welding only, is there much benifit from pulsed output? I have only used sine wave machines so far.

What type of materials will you be welding? What are the thicknesses?Any piping?Stainless, alum, exotics? The Miller Synchrowave is a great machine and there are alot of others out there that do a great job also.Miller Dynasty,Lincoln Precision Tig or Invertec.-Just a few to consider

This is for My home shop. I would not be doing any pipeline or certified work.  Materials : aluminum, carbonsteel, stainless steel, tig brazing. I have a 600 amp sine wave machine now, certainly don't need one that big. I used to have a friends Dialarc 250 HF, I used that at max output at times. A 250 amp machine would likely do 99% of what I need. I would like to be able to handle 3/8 material, but still have good low end performance. I use a MIG spoolgun for aluminum when speed is more important than quality.
