Yesterday a man told me he knew of an outfit that uses GMAW to puddle Babbit.
We do a fair amount of babbit work like casting ,spin pouring, spraying and puddling with a Oxy/Acet torch but I have never heard of running it with a squirt gun. Has any one else ever heard or seen such a thing? I wonder what gas or gases they use.
I am aware of the potential problems, its softer than alluminun and the smallest wire we have found is 1/16", and the low melting temp but considering we have state of the art inverter powered, digi pulse that will get down below 50 amps I belive any thing possible.
