I use a lincoln 175 plus gmaw, mostly in my shop.  Tomorrow I have to weld in a second story room in an old house.  Do I need to ground my machine and my work out a window with a long cable, or can I just ground to the floor?  I'm pretty sure the wiring in this place is circa 1940 and I'm just a little bit sketched out.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Ground to your actual work piece........DO NOT TRY TO USE THE HOUSE WIRING FOR YOUR GROUND
