I am welding11 ga ss baffles in a tank the horizontal welds are coming out perfect but the vert-up welds are raising in the middle like the weld is cold but it is penetrating fully? miller remote wire feeder with .035 solid wire,tri-mix, 22 volts, 185 amps, 30 wire speead. I played with voltage and wire speed all day and those numbers are where it runs the best but still not right.
can anyone help.

If there is any way you can vert. down , do it , you'll save yourself a lot of headaches. Thats what i've found out anyway! You can also try a tri-mix gas with 1 part hydrogen in it , (Liquid Air Blue Shield #10),if you try this gas you will need a different nut on your regulator to fit the tank valve, it has a thread on it like acetelene fittings. but your supplier will be able to outfit you properly.

I wish I could vert-down but the company who's site we are on want's up so I'm at thier mercy. I will mention that gas to my boss.

The AIr Liquide gas for short-circuit on stainless is Blueshield 9
