how it going everybody, I got a question. I have been looking for an inverter type machine,and  they have the tig output duty cycle, and then they say mma welding output I was just wondering what mma stood for is it the same as stick welding. Thanks for info

Hello elliot, I did a quick ask jeeves search since I couldn't relate to that particular abbreviation either. I came up with "MMA" meaning Manual Metal Arc, so in other words, as you thought, stick welding. They could have just said SMAW and made it simple for everyone. Regards, aevald

SMAW is the official term defined by the AWS for stick welding. MMA is the stick term used in Europe. I don't know if the person describing the welding process was foriegn or just didn't know better, but there it is.
