Welding EMT conduit

I am going to Tig weld 3/4 inch EMT conduit. Should I remove the galvanized coating first? Best way to remove it, if I do?

Thankyou for steering me on to the technical forum. I found the answer to my question and much more. I didn't realize that the zinc coating could be burned off before welding. I will follow your suggestions.

I know that your post is a few days old .But I have been fabricating treestand ladders out of emt.I've been grinding the coating off and I've been using a miller matic 90 wire machie with flux core wire.I know that the wire has alot of splatter but I haven't got the bottle to mig with yet
