The material is A-514 (t-1) joined to A-1045 round stock.  I'm told you can only get A-1045 in roundstock so how do i qualify a procedure?  Any help is greatly appreciated.  I just need pointed in the right direction.

Thanks,  Kix

Kix,

What diameter sizes does A-1045 come in?

It's coming in as 2 1/4" roundstock. If they can make it in round stock surely they make it in plate also right?

You could have two plates cut out of one 7" or 8" round bar, but I'm not sure what dia. sizes A-1045 is provided in.

I ment if they can mix it up at the BOF and poor it in roundstock molds surely the poor slabs also. AnybodY?

You would be better off trying to get engineering approval to qualify the procedure using some kind of a similar group plate material.  (comment:  a plate mill is a bit more complicated than just pouring a cast flat slab, and a rod mill is not just "pour it into a roundstock mold").

Kix,

You say you are receiving the ASTM A1045 in 2-1/4 rounds?  What specifically does the cert say for the ASTM A1045 material you are receiving?  ASTM-A1045 is Standard Specification for Flexible Poly (Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Gaskets used in Connection of Water Closets to Sanitary Drainage System...
