Are you asking about Magnesium Welding?

If so, I spent about two years in a dungeon repairing magnesium gear cases for 727s.

Both EZ and AZ alloys....... All GTAW... Both AC and DCEP.

These repairs became incalculably more difficult with the advent of environmental responsibility and the extinction of Trichloroethane hot vapor degreasers :)
