I have a pretty good grasp of the theory, and also the difference between its 'real' advantages and whats being sold. I wanted to open a discussion on the process for a consensus.
Where is it in your experience, found to be advantageous?
What applications is it being used for?
What about rubustness of the equipment?
Operator appeal?
Automation compatibility?
Etc.

The biggest advantage where we are using it is that multiple arcs in the same vicinity will not interfere with each other the way they will with DC.  No problems with reliability to this point.

HI Jeff,

Big application in Pipemills, we do offshore construction, Jackets Decks Pipelines etc. all the Jakcet legs and piles are SAW. I have heard of systems with up to 5 arcs. I am not directly involved with it, but our people seem to be pretty satisfied.

Thanks for the input guys. My biggest concern is the robustness of the equipment in an application where we will essentially have one unit. A shut down can bottleneck the entire plant.
I have no doubt the technology can provide the productivity I am looking for.
