HOW DO I SEPERATE THE ENGINE FROM THE GENERATOR ?

WHEN I PULL ON THE ENGINE, THE ENTIRE GENERATOR SHAFT IS PULLING
OUT.

THERE AS TO BE A COUPLING BETWEEN BOTH .

patpro , pull out the bolts to fly wheel , the thin plate , then twist about 1/4 turn , it will disconnect from dowels , then you need to support the armature so it won't hit the field coils , i use small wood wedges like you use for shim doors with . got to run now i'll check back to-nite . good luck . willie

THANK YOU FOR THE FAST REPLY. WHEN I AM IN FRONT OF THE ENGINE (LOOKING AT THE CRANK PULLEY) DO I TURN THE
ENGINE CLOCKWISE OR COUNTER/C. ? ?

patpro , you can turn it eather way the dowels have a grove turned in them where the armature keys into if you pry apart with out turning you may bend the dowel or the armature pins .  good luck  . willie
