/ single pass fillet welds for group 2 steels....

why is it that the maximum size single pass fillet welds are smaller for group 2 steels................???
does the same apply for group 3 and 4 steels...........

Not sure where you are getting this unless you are looking at 3.7.3 for weathering steels only. Table 3.7 does not have such a requirement. What paragraph are you seeing this in?

yes , i'm sorry........3.7.3. what is it about ASTM 588 and 709 gr.50W that brings these changes..........?
( i thought 709 50W was in group 3,,,,my mistake..)
