Hi everybody , does anyone have a page or link with info on design of SAW joints?,
im looking particulary for joint design for V-bevel no backing in 12 mm plate with 3/32" wire, and
X-Bevel in 25 mm plate with 3/32" wire also

The Procedure Handbook of arc Welding, by Lincoln Electric has lots of sub arc procedures and joint configurations.  I have not seen any joint designs before for sub arc with no backing at all...could you use a copper or ceramic backing?

Bill is right, you're gonna have to have some kind of backing for SAW, even if its closing the gap on the V for the first side, and then backgouging to weld the other side.

You could look at AWS D1.1 for joint details for SAW.
