Are considering using 201SS instead of 304SS for the fabrication of miscellaneous boxes attached to trucks. Cost is the reason. Are there any fabrication/ welding/ polishing considerations. I know that 201SS is alittle stronger THAT 304ss  as the yield is higher so the enlongation is less consequently the fabrication ( bending ) might be slightly different. How about the welding? Seems 308 filler is still recommended. Any hot cracking or other issues with this change that anybody is aware of?

Look in the "Technical" section and about 3/4 of the way dow on that page, 201 is discussed.
