The IWE cert is of fairly recent advent. And my understanding is that it probably receives greater attention overseas than in the US. I had some friends that were 'Grandfathered" in at the beginning based upon PE quals and graduate paper,  and various other justifications. But the only real benefit I can see a this time is just adding more info to your resume', which never hurts. I don't know off hand of any companies that truly consider it in hiring practices. Its almost unknown here in the states.
