Just bought a new victor one piece torch. Seems though that I have to tighten the tip nut alot more then one would think . Other wise the tip keeps poping. having used another brand for the last few years that did not require so much torque to seat the tip it seems a bit excessive. What I am wondering is this normal for victor torchs or should I return the torch for a new one? apart from that the torch works well.

First I would try several different tips to determine if the tip or torch head is faulty. Do the sealing surfaces look OK?

Dave, the sealing surfaces seem to look alright and I will try the different tips.
