I have been welding for 3 years in the marines and I just got out not to long ago and I am looking for a welding job. I applied for this job that works on trains and what not and they want me to come in on Monday to do a bend test using wire feed, I know how to use the MIG, but I have never done a bend test before. I have seen the test done before, but i cant be sure thats the one ill be doing. I looked on the web site and I saw the Certifications and the one for welding is AWS - D15.3 (American Welding Society Railroad Welding Specification for cars and locomotives) I'm not sure what that is, I know what AWS means but the numbers is what I don't know. Is there a specific test for that code or what. Any help would be appreciated. I'm also wondering if there is a web site that I can go to that describes the test in detail, so that way I'm prepared thanks.
