I'm looking to buy my first hardness tester. any recommendations ?

If possible, buy a benchtop multi-scale Rockwell hardness tested (A, B, C, 15T, etc).

If you are looking for a portable solution, be forewarned that those units tend to have more testing variation than a benchtop unit.

For portable testers- I like the EquoTip equipment
You can change the display to read in Brinnell, Rockwell A, B, C, Vickers, Shore
