Requalification of welders

My company is starting a job that uses ASTM A588 weathering steel. All of our welders are qualified for FCAW E71T-1 with co2 shielding.
For the A588 we are going to use E81T1-NiMH8 75-25 argon-co2. D1.1:2006 table 4.12 does not list shielding gas or filler metal strength
as an essential variable for FCAW. Do the welders need to requalify with the new wire per D1.1?

No. If no essentail variables change, requalification is not required.

Hey pbush you might need to look on page 141,142 and 143 in D1.1:2006 before you make any decision.
