In AWS B5.1:2003 section 4.1.2 it states "The WI shall be able to supervise and train AWI's" and in Table 1 (1) develop and provide a training program for the AWI .... what does this mean exactally? is this training to become a AWI, i'm thinking not but what training are they refering to?
I believe it is intended to mean on the job training and guidance to the CAWI, not training of someone to become a CAWI. Although, I don't think training of an uncertified individual is prohibited.
CAWI's have to work under the supervision of a CWI.
