Does anyone have any insight as to where I might find a table (or several...) with general machine settings for various diameters of both solid and tubular welding wire used in GMAW and FCAW? Consummable manufacturers would seem the likliest place, but I find that there is zero information available for GMAW wires....

Thank you Lawrence, looks like exactly what I was after...suppliers here in Canada tend to hold onto information that is helpful with their products like they were state secrets!

Richard,
ALC used to publish a small coiled version of their catalog that has all of the consumable information and it can also be found at http://www.blueshield.ca.  ESAB now publishes their recommended parameters on their website http://www.esabna.com.  Below is some of the parameters I've collected for GMAW, FCAW and MCAW.  Note that you will have to adjust the voltage for your specific shielding gas(es).

Combined with the websites previously given you should be well on your way.

Sean

BTW what part of Canada are you in?
