This is a story that has a lesson attached to it... Especially to those who wish to "Pontificate" their own personal beliefs in a formal educational atmosphere where such personal beliefs must be kept PERSONAL!!!

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU. :(

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He  looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes."
The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. :0

Ten minutes went by, and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting." It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. :0

The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked, and stunned and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?" :(

The Marine calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to say such stupid s&*t, and act like an A*#hole... So, He sent me!!!" :)

When I read it, I just had to share it with some of my US Marine buddies that frequent in this forum ;)
No offense Giavonni!!! Please! This in no way was directed towards you SIR!!! ;)
In any event, "Semper Fidelis!!!" from this old broken down Sailor!!! :) :) :)

Respectfully,
Henry

Henry, great post. I have heard other stories that emphasize the ignorance of certain individuals regarding where and whence we have been afforded the freedoms we enjoy in the United States, unlike any other nation in the world. Once again a reminder to appreciate our great nation and those who defend it. You don't have to necessarily agree with the views of our politicians, yet we should be appreciative of those who defend and serve so that we may have what we have. Thanks, Henry, for the story and having served. Best regards, Allan

I guess that professor missed the parts about "though shall not tempt the Lord thy God" and the parts where God uses us at times to perform his work.
