I am in a situation of confirming which electrode to use to weld a casting of (Unstabilized Austentic Stainless Steel) A-743 CF10SMnN. The ASTM specs state the cheamical composition as C=.10, Mag=7.00-9.00, Sil=3.5-4.5, Phos=.060, Sulfur=.030, Chromium=16.-18., Nickel=8.0-9.0, Nitrogen=.08-.18.
I am wondering about preheat, electrode and any special practices needed for this material.

After looking it up, on the internet, isn't this alloy a cast version of Nitronic 60?
and isn't there a matching filler?
Try.

I believe it is a cast version of Nitronic 60.  So the Manganese should be 7.00-9.00, not Magnesium.  There should be quite a bit of literature available on welding Nitronic 60 from the mills that manufacture it.

I'll check out some of that information Thanks

Returning to the conversation, I found also Nitronic mechanical properities here - https://virgamet.com/nitronic-50-hs-shs-xm19-uns-s20910-non-magnetic-stainless-steel.html As a bars it's something special for me.
