I am welding the sheet of plain steel of 2.00 mm of tickness in the position vertical-up. the process am ussing is SMAW. the sitick reference is E7018 diameter of 3/32". My problem is that the stick are creating holes into the sheet, what can i do??
What other filler metal different of E7018 is recomend, to do tihis process.

Depends on service requirments

2mm (1/16 in) is pretty thin for V-up SMAW with E7018.

Other possibilities include:

E6013 3/32 V-Down
GMAW
GMAW-P
FCAW 0.035 E71T-GS V-Down

Are you welding to a PQR or WPS? I would guess not. That would take a very high skill level to successfully weld V UH on 2mm with E7018 3/32". If you are just needing to get it welded solidly and not working to or deviating from a WPS you can try the processes Lawrence suggested. If you do not have wire feeders you also can try E6010, E6011 or even E7018 all V DH.

I agree with Lawrence in migging vertical down, if the process is available to you.  If not, you might try vertical down using 1/8" dia. E6011 rods, 110 amps (AC), with an arc speed of 29-34 ipm.  Use a 1/16" gap and whip the rod.  Still another possibility.... Have you thought about overlapping the material?
