Revisting AC stick welding after a few years I've forgotten a few things, mainly the proper rods to use. Most of my welding is with mild steel. What's the difference between the 7018AC and 7014 rod? Memory tells me that 60xx rods are nasty and weak, 7018 rods give me a nicer looking weld but are harder to use than the 7014 rod.
Are there some newer rods I might look at?
Where can I find a good reference to tell me the differences of all the different rods available?(the clerks at the store usually aren't a whole lot of help). Thanks

Harris wire Co. has a nice web site that should be helpful. I dont have the address but you should be able to find it using a search engine.
