I found a deal on a used Plasmadyn M40 plasma cutter from a local seller, but haven't been able to find much information on them.  Anyone have any experience with these machines?

Dont know what kind of deal you found, but I'm happy with my mine.
I got it about a year ago on sale for $550 + $60 shipping.

It'll clean cut 3/8 easy, and I tried 3/4, but that was beyond the its duty cycle.
I can hack 3/4, but is ugly and I get an overtemp light after a while.
Probably have 50 hours on it, no complaints except for the cord is way too short.

My Miller 375 burned up and replaced it with this one.
All in all, its has less than half the price and it works 'bout the same.

Update on My PlasmaDyne M40 plasma Cutter.

Pleased overall on this thing. It takes some skill to learn to cut properly, but you can get a very good cut on 3/8"
Takes a steady hand, but beats hell out of my old torch.

A neighbor bought a yellow/red Rattler one on ebay for $400.
Same size, doesnt not cut wht my machine cuts. His will cut 1/4 inch okay, but cutting 3/8 gives a bad cut.

The cord on my welder is a little short till I saw his.
My cord is about 7 feet. His cord is about 3 foot.

I wouldnt pay what he did for his welder.
