Ok, I'm ready to start up my pipeliner (after a conversation with KSELLON I unwrapped the exciter coils, found the break and rewrapped them).
I need to go get a battery. What size battery? What "group" is recommended that will fit in the compartment. I could go measure it but why gues at it.
Back to the exciter cols and my findings for those interested. I found three breaks on the right coil. All showed green corrosion so they were easy to find. Strange that there were three breaks I would think one would be the common. I soldered the wires, wrapped the repairs with tape and wrapped the entire assembly with Scotch 69 cloth tape. The coils now show the correct resistance. Thanks again K for the idea.
