I.S.O. Weld insulating blankets

My client is looking to purchase insulating blankets/pads. The blankets will be in direct contact with the heat source (2000*F). Personnel will be in direct contact with the other side of the blanket.

I'm looking for a material that can:

#1 - Withstand sustained contact up to 2000*F
#2 - Insulates well enough, for an operator to touch the
#3 - Be flexible to conform to the shape of the part

I can find materials that do meet some of the above, but nothing that meets all of criteria.

Any leads will be greatly appreciated,

Almost, it's pressure vessels. The welders climb inside.

Anything that can withstand the heating element (2000*F) does not have good insulating properties, and vice versa. The material either burns or doesn't insulate. The best materials are still over 100*F on the ambient side. And then those only last for several uses.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic that there's a product that can insulate 2000*F to ambient in less than ~2 inches.

how many of these u needing my dad makes blankets that will with hold 2000 degreese for years and are about 2 to three inches thick

I'm ready to purchase 1 - 3' x 3' for testing or (preferably a smaller free sample). I would then be looking for 8-10 larger blankets/pads for productive use. After the initial purchase there would be approximately 5 more purchased each year (depending on durability and use).

If they are made to order we'd like them to have pleats every ~6" to hold the insulation in place and NOT to have eyelets (conducts heat).
