I'm using plug welding to replace panels that were originally spot welded. How much metal needs to be cleaned beyond the circumference of the hole, any tips on proper technique, and how much excess metal do you typically end up with if it is done properly? Also, what is the most efficient way to remove excess? Standard metal grinding wheels seem to go too slow, are open coat fibre discs pratical as an option?
