I have a project where I need to weld stainless steel HSS8x8x3/8 to 1" thick A36.  Are there any tips or guidelines that I can use to make sure it gets the strengh I need from it?  Are there any reference manuals out there that I can find which will talk about welding two different materials together.  Any information that is given to me would be a great help....  Thanks!!

Use the Search function on this forum and you should find plenty. SS to CS is quite common.
