I ran across this torch on weldingdepot web site:

http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/ER9FX-12A.html

I am interested in it because of the option to add a thumb wheel control:

  http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/ER1MS-xx.html

and a customed connector for your model welder:

http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/scan/fi=products/st=db/sp=results/co=1/sf=category/se=Ergo%20Tig%20Torches/op=eq/nu=0/bs=1/ml=28/tf=description/to=x/se=1/sf=inactive/op=ne/sf=tax_category/se=1/va=banner_text=/va=banner_image=.html?id=L8MWUL7V

This provides thumbwheel control for my ThermalArc 185 for a lot less than the $300+ that the ThermalArc unit costs.

Has anyone used this?

i never used that model but i switched out my weldcraft for parweld because of quality issues with the weldcraft torch and its really good and the caps and cups are all the same as the weldcraft parts. I used a thumb control a couple years ago and didnt like it, i found it was just making more for your hands to do when i had two feet doing nothing. I found the foot control much better for myself , just my 2cents
