How do you run 1/8" 7018 fill/cap passes on 6" sch 80 pipe in the 5G position?  can you weave it?  or does it have to be stringers?  and don't read into this question too deeply...I'm just talking about walking into a shop, somebody asks you to weld this 6" sch 80 pipe w/ a standard ASME IX B31.3 fit-up with a 1/8" 6010 root and the rest 1/8" 7018.  I'm asking about rod angles, amps, travel speed with reference to the rest of the weld (you weld kinda slow on the bottom, faster from 5:30-3:00, medium speed on the side, and slow on top...that kinda thing), and any other tricks you guys might have.

You will want to weld your fill/cap as hot as possible (the sch 80 can take the heat) and oscillate just a bit in your puddle. Your fastest travel speeds should be around the 9 oclock to 12 oclock. Keep your rod angle positions as close to 90 degrees as you can and whatever you do dont long arc it.

I figured it out.  it's the exact opposite of what you said.
