My project specification stated that WPS shall be qualified as per AWS D1.1

Is it possible to make equivalent between material API/ASTM with BS/BS EN acceptable to AWS D1.1?

Because all qualified WPS i having are qualified using material of BS EN... for example: S355 (Unlisted in AWS D1.1), i could not group this material as per AWS D1.1 table 3.1 or 4.9. and so table 4.8 for the base metal combination qualified. If i need now to weld API/ASTM material, do i need new qualification using API/ASTM material or i can use S355 WPS if the said material is considered same grade as S355 in term of supply condition, strength and chemical composition.

Please let me know if this is allowed, under what section AWS D1.1 stated.
