After taking a welder qualification butt weld test on pipe in the 6g, I can only find where it says you can weld fillet welds on plates of unlimited thickness. (note1)  I can't find if it says you can weld grooved plate of a certain thickness if it even says it.  Thanks for any info on this subject.
