I was asked about the fabrication of an oil tank for a semi. The tank will be an auxillary tank for used oil on a semi (for oil changes). The individual that will be building it wants to make it out of aluminum. I am interested in knowing what is the best grade of aluminum to use for this project. An information would help .
Thanks in advance.

It's a simple application and a small tank, so the cheapest grade of aluminum will do. Welding aluminum, however, is somewhat complicated for who isn't experienced in the field. If your friend wants a rust proof tank, it would be better to make it of stainless steel.
