Up Topic Welding Industry / General Welding Discussion / question about a solar 2175

Im looking at buying a used solar 2175, but Im told it needs a wire feed motor, where can I look for parts for this thing and is it worth buying?
I can probably pick it up for $100.00.  Are these decent machines?
Thanks for the help

You might check with weldmart.com they have some parts for some harder to service machines. Those machines were marketed to auto repair shops 20-30 years ago.

These machines were manufactured by Century and parts are still available. I would not pay $100 for a broken machine though, especially since you have no chance to try it out, and don't know what it will cost to get it working. It is essentialy a boat anchor until it is fixed.
