Broke the dang water jackets in my boat. The boat is a fairly heavy Cobalt. A very solid built boat, ahead of it's time back in the day. I'm looking for a newer aluminum powerplant.........Trying to get ideas.

Doesn't Merlin make a 540 cu. in. aluminum block for BB chevy's?  Top that with an aluminum GM 8-71 blower and two aluminum four barrels.  This is a cigarette boat isn't it?

No, it's a jet drive cruiser, 19 ft. I need at least 350 horse, which shouldn't be too hard to do. The jet drive robs plenty of power........

I should be able to hear "the giagantic sucking sound" here in Pensylvania. No it won't be from NAFTA, it will be from Sourdough's  boat's gas tank vent when He puts the hammer down.

Back when I was a teenager the guy across the road bought a jet boat with a blown motor from another local guy. The motor didn't have a rev limiter, and it lost a rod when it sucked air and over reved. He took the 455 out of His '70 Olds 442 and ran that in it for the rest of the summer. I think that was about 350 HP.

Those old Oldsmobile big blocks were conservatively rated at 350 hp. for the 4 barrel.  And over 400 ft. lb. of torque in stock form.  Torque rules!
