Work is in such a rush to ship three vessel/skid combo's off down the tracks, that when it came to the shipping lugs we welded onto the train cars, good fitup and prep was thrown right out the window.  The ones on the vessel's saddles weren't much better, but we made them work.

We got em welded.  Once all the nasty stuff was burned out and the gaps walked across, it was pretty simple.  It's been nice being out of the shop for a few days.

The third pic shows how to burn 3/16" 7018 with a Bobcat 225.  Crank both knobs clockwise as far as they'll go!

The fourth pic shows the lugs on the saddles.  Sadly, I don't have any closeups (you're not missing much.)

Probably a procedure out of the FC(2002) edition would be applicable for this. ;-)
