I'm not sure that A5.18 is the right document...not much of what you want is in there.....but:

No limit on thickness (from a weldability standpoint, NOT a WPS qualification standpoint)
Typically run with reverse polarity
Can be run all position with short arc or pulsed arc
The -6 indicates a higher level of deoxidizers (Si) vs the S-2 or S-3.
