Gentlemen,
I think it may be time to start the FC-Nonstandard terms and definitions book as well as the FC-Book of interpretations. We have recently received an abundance of valuable information that can be gathered for future referance.

Of course this will require the input from "All" of us in this forum.

What do "YOU" say?

Do You want this to be humorous, or is it actually hoped that You might translate what 'Ol Bubba says into AWS terminology?

You bet I am game for that John!  Terminology interpretation is important even in the FC.

Porosity - another term for lightning holes, "so its not so heavy", except these are specially produced in the weld deposit to avoid unnecessary fabrication.

Inclusion- to add to the bill or job  I.E.  "I made an inclusion of that porosity at no extra charge just because I like you"

Stress relief- a 30 pack and a rod and reel.

Oh dang I am sorry you said NON standard terms....ok I think I got it now.

Whip it in there- 1/8" 7018 on a 12 gauge vertical pass.

Slag- a synonymous term for weld deposit when primer is handy...[see inclusion for further explanation]

Straight polarity-The weld does not appear to have been done by a homosexual person.

Negative polarity-The equipment was at fault for the defect.

Strolling out the lead-Making some xtra money

Kodack-1.something performed by someone educated beyond their intelligence 2. Working for free 3. BS its all the buddy system man!

Backup gas-Where the heck is that porta-potty...NOW!!!!

Speed glass- A mirror in the glovebox.     (ok that was harsh I am sorry....well no I am not).

Press fit- Bang it and nail it.

I better lay off now, I got a tarantula to relocate you know!

Best regards
Tommy
