I have a 1968 Sears Colormatic stick machine that was my grandfathers.  The on/off switch broke and I'm having trouble finding a replacement.

It is a panel mounted, 240V, 60A, 2HP switch.  It has 2 input connections and 2 output with a chassis ground.  I'm guessing thats DPST, right?  I'm sure it's obvious I'm no electrician.

I know I can't get the exact switch, but does anyone have suggestions of where I can find a good replacement?  Local supply houses don't carry anything that big.

The only thing I can come up with is mounting a disconnect box on the side of the machine, but I really don't want to do that.

Thanks,

Hank

Perhaps You can get a replacement switch from Miller or Lincoln and put that in. It is a Dubble pole single throw.

Hi, Hank. Shoot me a pic of it, I may have a used one off a dead machine that looks close. Can't promise, but I'll look. Thanks Steve sbcmwebber@comcast.net. 517 202 0314
