Do You need AC welding output?

No not really, but it would be nice if I ever needed it.

Go with the Trailblazer 275 DC and if AC is needed plug an AC/DC inverter into the 240 VAC receptacle.

Never thought about an inverter, thanks for the input! curious if a DC engine drive has better arc performance than a AC/DC drive?
within the caliber of welders we are talking about!

In all modern machines this size, they are all a rectified alternator for DC weld output, but the Trailblazers use a 3 phase 120 HZ alternator for the weld output, and that rectifies into a really smooth DC weld output. Conversly, the guys with the Lincoln "chopper" machines seem to like them just as much.

I have a 302 for a back up and I will put it on the truck for a stainless job. I dont know about the 305g, but you want have any problems with the 302.

What are you using as your main welder J-ROD?

I hear the lincolns with chopper technology are pretty smooth but not sure if they are any smoother than the 3 phase millers.
